First Month of Web Hosting For A Penny!

Good morning to all! You might have noticed that I have a new link on the right-hand side of the blog advertising your first month of web hosting for just a penny. Well, I wanted to go into just a bit more detail about that because if you were interested and clicked on it, you might have been a little confused as to what to do once you reach HostGator!

Okay, so when you arrive there you'll see at the top of the page about 3 of their most popular packages and underneath there is where you will see a holiday sale banner advertising 20% off, blah, blah, blah! That's not what you want. You want to look right underneath there, it's basically I guess the middle of the page where it just says generically, "Sign Up Now!" Once you click on this, you'll be asked if you'd like to register a new domain name or use one that you already have. Notice that I said you can get your first month of hosting for a penny, not your domain name. If you don't have a domain name, I suggest you get one first before signing up with HostGator. Good places to get a cheap domain name are: GoDaddy.com or 1&1,com.

Anyway, back to what I was saying about HostGator, once you click on the sign up button, the first thing you'll be asked about is your domain name, so if you get one from somewhere else, type it in where they ask you to or if you'd like to register your domain name with HostGator, that's fine, too. Just know that HostGator is going to charge you $15 per year, where as there are other companies you can register your domain name with and save a little money, such as the ones I referred to above. So, after you finish entering your domain name info, you'll be taken to the next page which asks you to pick the frequency of your billing cycle (monthly, etc.) Monthly will be the default at $9.95, which is a very good price, I must say, and you'll want to make sure the package type is "Baby," which it should be set to automatically and then all you have to do is enter the coupon code "WORDPRESS" into the box where it asks you for your coupon and you're done! The next page that pops up will show you that your total cost is one penny!!! Cool, right? I thought so.

I'm kinda new at all this web hosting stuff, as I don't actually have a website yet, myself, but it is so at the top of my to-do list! I really want SBI, but just can't quite afford it yet, darn! I'm also looking into something newly released called "Static Blogging." If you've never heard of Lynn Terry, you have to check her out. She's got a site called, "Self-Starters Weekly Tips," which I found probably about a year ago or so and I just love her to death. She's been doing business from the net for I guess about a decade or so, single mom, the whole nine yards. Anyway, she provides VERY VERY useful information and recommends great products. Why am I bringing her name up? She's the one who brought "Static Blogging" to my attention. I'm not an affiliate for Lynn Terry or Static Blogging, by the way, just giving you some free useful information :) I've created a link to Static Blogging, so if you'd like to check it out you can. Lynn is, I guess an affilate or partner with them and offered a ten dollar discount off the normal price of $57, so when you click the link here, you'll get the same discount if you decide to buy. I think it's worth checking out and at least bookmarking for later because I think it's something big. Static blogging is basically all about being able to have the functionality of a blog, while not necessary having the look of a blog, thus the term "static." You can read all about it yourself, I'm not a good salesperson, but Lynn does a good job describing it as well. You can visit her site by clicking Self-Starters Weekly Tips. To read her article all about static blogging where she shows you before and after pics of her site she created, CLICK HERE. She also has a blog called, ClickNewz! Geez, after all this writing about Lynn and Static Blogging, I really wish I was somehow affiliated with the both of them!! It's okay, though because she deserves to be recognized!

Well, I guess I've ranted on for long enough today. Tomorrow's gonna be really exciting. I have something very special for you planned, something you're going to love if you're looking for a way to both promote your blog and get its name out there and also create lots and lots of backlinks for it, which is key to getting a good search engine ranking. The more backlinks, the better!

Free Silver Jewelry!

Today, I'm a little off topic, but oh, well! I was thinking about the holidays coming up and thought I should let you know about a cute little site that I found where you can get free, yes, free sterling silver jewelry. The only thing you pay is the shipping and handling, which is a mere $5.95! The pieces retail for anywhere from $29.99-59.99, so you can do what you like with them. You can keep them for yourself, give them as an inexpensive gift this holiday season, or you can even resell them, perhaps on Craigslist and at least double your money! Whatever you decide to do with them, you got yourself a steal here with this.

Also, let me mention, that you can refer people to get their own free jewelry and earn 50 cents for every free order processed, like I am doing. I think I might just start a new blog for special offers like these (one day, ha, ha)!!

P.S. They have some really nice banners that you can put on your site, too, however, for some reason I can't get mine to show up in this post, hence the big gap between the title of this post and where the body starts. In preview mode, it's showing up, but not after I publish. So, if you want to see the pieces, you'll just have to click the text link above :)

Join WidgetBucks and Get A $25 Sign-Up Bonus!

I'd like to tell you real quick about a really fast way to earn yourself a quick $25! Some of you may already be aware of this program and may have already signed up, while there may be others who have never heard about this yet. It's called WidgetBucks! If you look right over to the left, you'll see I have added a cute little widget that is flashing you and prompting you to join WidgetBucks and earn money. Yes, you can earn money just by joining WidgetBucks today. They will give you a $25.00 sign-up bonus just for joining.

So, what happens after you join WidgetBucks, you ask? Well, let me tell you, if you have a blog, great, because you can get started right away. After you sign-up you'll be able to customize a widget to place on your blog. If you look right underneath the cute little widget that's prompting you to sign-up, you'll see another widget advertising laptop computers. This is the WidgetBucks widget! You can choose from all different categories for your widget, such as computers, video games, books, kids and family, and many others, so that the category will match the theme of your blog.

The best part about WidgetBucks? You not only get paid for referring others to WidgetBucks, but also get paid each time someone clicks on your WidgetBucks ad widget! Exactly how much they pay per click is unknown. I just recently signed up, so I can not report any earnings to you as of yet, but rest assured that I will as soon as I'm able to. The referral program works like this: You will earn a 10% commission referral fee based on the commissions earned by the people you refer, which is paid monthly. The minimum payout to receive your commission check? $50.00, so if you sign-up today, you're already halfway there! Good luck if you decide to join and let me know how it goes. I'll keep you updated on my earnings, too!

P.S. If I didn't already mention, click on the flashing widget on the right to sign up!

How Much Is Your Blog Worth?

A VERY Good Morning to everyone!! I have been away for quite some time now, a nice vacation, I must say. Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving holiday and got to spend some quality time with the family. I know I did :)

So, the title of today's post is, "How Much Is Your Blog Worth?" You may have noticed a small tidbit of a graphic located a little ways down on the left-hand side of the page with a little icon of George Washington that asks, "How Much Is Your Blog Worth?" If you've been following this blog, you might have noticed that the amount of money my blog is worth has been increasing. It went from about five hundred dollars when I first installed the widget to now about $2,800 and that is an increase from last week when it was just about $2,200.

So, if you're curious to see just how much your blog is worth, you may easily do so by either clicking on the title of this post, which is a link, or by clicking in the widget itself. You can read more about it after clicking to the page, about the man who came up with it and what factors are involved when it comes to assigning a value for a blog. Some of the factors that I'm aware of are your page rank and your Alexa ranking, among others.

That's all for now folks! Have a wonderful day!!
